Russian Ambassador says Sudan stability represents our first priority

Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-Russian Ambassador to Khartoum, Envarbik M. Fazeliyanov, stressed that Sudan's stability represents the first interest to his country, adding that Moscow supports and welcomes the initiative of the national dialogue launched by President Al-Bashir last January, considering that the step is a good and right to peaceful, political solutions to all the problems facing Sudanese people. In an interview with Sudan News Agency (SUNA) on Sunday, Fazeliyanov noted to his country's efforts to support Sudan in international forums to overcome all its obstacles. "We do all our efforts at the UN Security Council to prevent Sudanese Government from the resolutions which bear Sudan alone responsibility for what is happening in Darfur” he added He pointed out that this country work actively to be insure that the resolutions made by UN Security Council come out balanced and should aim to take constructive and peaceful solutions to solve the problems in Darfur. On the upcoming visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to Khartoum on 3 December, Fazeliyanov said it’s the third meeting this year between Lavrov, and his Sudanese counterpart, Ali Karti, adding that contacts between the two countries is permanent and continuous to coordinate in attitudes and opinions in the areas of regional and foreign policy between the two countries The spokesperson of Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yousif Al-Kordofani, the, told SUNA that talks between the two sides will focus on economic and cultural issues and coordination between the two countries in international forums, besides issues of mutual concern. The Ambassador described the visit as important and a qualitative shift in relations between the two countries. "The visit comes as a culmination of several visits undertaken by the Foreign Minister Ali Karti to Russia," he said. "Relations between the two countries will witness a new horizon of cooperation and coordination after the upcoming visit," he said. "Sudan is desirous of establishing economic relations with Russia," he added.
