Prosecution of Ba’ath Party cadres postponed until next week
|
Khartoum-Khartoum North Criminal Court postponed, on Sunday, the prosecution of two Arab Ba’ath Socialist Party members to next week. The two members were arrested mid current month by security forces before they handed over to the police, and accused of breaching public tranquility. The two defendants were raising slogans calling for bringing down the regime. Speaking to the Citizen, the spokesperson of the party Mohamed Diya said that the prosecution of the Ba’ath party members was postponed to the 3rd of the current month. He described the prosecution of the Ba’ath member party as big backtrack on the margin of freedoms and the recent decisions of President Al-Bashir. He called for releasing the detainees and cancelling the prosecutions, considering the arrest of the members of the Ba’ath party while they were carrying anti government banners as violation to the recent republican decision and the interim constitution.
