Presidency renews confidence in Khartoum state government
|
Khartoum-The Sudanese Presidency has announced renewal of confidence in the governor of Khartoum state Abdelrahman Al-Khidir and members of his government, putting an end to the news that he is among five other governors who are under pressures to turn in their resignation to the President Omer Al-Bashir. The governor of Khartoum faced a tough media campaign amid calls for his resignation after a number of the employees have utilized their influence to buy and sell luxurious lands and cars using stamps and signatures belong to the governor. A fact finding committee has acquitted the governor saying he took the initiative to report his suspicions on his employees and showed cooperation with the committee. The committee said that the ill-gotten wealth attorney has released the defendants after repaying the money, saying issuing any punishment is up to the administrative procedures. In statement on Tuesday, the Assistant to the President Abdelrahman Al-Sadeq affirmed renewal of confidence in the governor and members of his government, saying that the Presidency is assured about the measures taken to handle the utilization of power.
