Parliament to invite opposition leaders to attend hearing session on elections law
|
Khartoum-The Parliament has revealed plans to send official invitation to the Secretary General of the Popular Congress Party, Dr. Hassan Al-Turabi, and the Chairman of the National Umma Party Al-Sadeq Al-Mahdi to participate in hearing sessions on the elections law, proposed to be tabled to the Parliament on Monday. The Parliament has meanwhile decided to extend its current session for another week to discuss the elections law.
The Speaker of the Parliament has affirmed that the official sessions will turn into hearing sessions at the main hall with the purpose of giving members of the political parties the opportunity to participate in discussing the parliament law.
The Speaker of the Parliament said in a press statement on Sunday that all political parties will be invited to express their view on the law and the anticipated amendments.
