Parliament opens wider horizons of sugar investment
|
Khartoum-Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Samia Ahmed Mohamed has called for opening further aspects of investment in sugar, and announced that the available sugar will be sufficient until post Ramadan month period. She said that any rise in the sugar prices will be unjustifiable as long as the door for importation is open, saying that the sugar production will reach five million tons a year by 2015 and 10 million by 2020.
In press statements upon a meeting with the minister of industry on Sunday, Samia admitted that the sugar industry faces the issue of the lack of the independent know-how to evaluate the strategy.
