Our relations with Sudan have improved in recent period: European Union
|
Khartoum-SudaneseOnline- The head of European Union (EU) Mission in Sudan, Ambassador Thomas Ulicny, has said that EU is looking forward to constructive cooperation with Sudan under the new European Commission which took office in Brussels this month, pointing out that EU policy in Sudan is clear and always calls to achieve peace, stability, the promotion of democracy, and respect for human rights. in a statement issued on Monday, Ulicny stated that EU will continue to advocate and work with Sudanese authorities and stakeholders to achieve the goals, stressing the improving of EU relationships with Sudan in the recent period, confirming that EU will continue to support Sudan and Sudanese people in its transition to democracy and internal reform to live in peace with itself and with its neighbors, adding that the national dialogue process launched currently is the best opportunity for progress towards objectives. The ambassador added that EU would continue to work with Sudan in the areas of human rights, economic relations, regional peace and stability in the Horn of Africa and coordination on global challenges including trafficking, migration and climate change.
