A crowd of Sudanese nationals living in the USA staged a protest in front of the UN Security Council premises in New York City on Wednesday.
“The protesters expressed their anger about the massacre on Sudanese civilians in Bentiu in South Sudan, the second genocide campaign by the Sudanese government taking place in South Kordofan’s Nuba Mountains, the Blue Nile, and, through the attacks by Rapid Support Forces (Janjaweedandnbsp;militias) against civilians in Darfur. They also condemned the use of food as a weapon against the citizens in these regions,” Majed Kabashi, member of the organising committee, and head of the Powers of the Margin in America, told Radio Dabanga from within the demonstration.
The demonstration was organised by the Association of Darfuris in New York, in cooperation with the Alliance of Sudanese Opposition Forces in America, US humanitarian organisations, Sudanese organisations in the New York metropolitan area, Philadelphia and New Jersey, and “victims of other genocides in the world”.
