Joint international mission affirms support to reintegration programs in Sudan
|
Khartoum-The Joint mission of the African Union, the Arab league, the World Bank and the UN has agreed to support the re integration programs of ex soldiers into society and small and light weapons control projects. This came during a recent visit to Sudan on Thursday.
Head of the Planning and Follow up department in Sudan Dr. Mohamed Zain Al-Abdeen said in a statement today that the three-day visit was chaired by head of security and defense in the African Union Tareq Al-Shareef aimed to get acquainted with the commission projects and means for joint cooperation.
He said that the delegation has made a series of successful meetings with the bodies relevant to Sudan, which affirmed the necessity of providing international support to the disarmament and re-integration programs by the donors in 2014-2016. He said that the Sudanese commission has made a report on the progress of work and its future horizons.
