Interior Ministry blames security situations for difficulty in drug control
|
Khartoum-The Interior Ministry has announced termination of 70% of the of cannabis seeds that was prepared for the plantation in Al-Radom area in South Kordofan state last April. The ministry has admitted difficulties in the drug control operations in the past period due to the instable security situations in Darfur. The ministry has said that the rumors and fabricated information that circulated during the seizure of the recent drugs shipment in Portsudan as baseless. Speaking to the Parliament on Monday, the minister of interior Abdel-Wahid Ibrahim has affirmed wide progress in the drug control process upon the stability of the security situations in Darfur. He revealed plans to upgrade the national committee for drug control to a higher council soon. Deputies of the Parliament have described the entry of the drug shipment as serious on the ground that it entered the country through official channels. The deputies have also described as wrong the security organs way in dealing with the incident. In the same context, the minister pledged to speak in details about the seizure of the drug shipment in the coming days. He described as rumors and wrong the details that has been circulated on the case.
