Health Ministry: Finance Ministry not committed to pay 10% of tobacco revenues

Khartoum-The coordinator of the national program for tobacco control of the federal health ministry Mujahid Mohamed Hassan has called on the finance ministry to pay 10% of the tobacco revenues to the federal health ministry so that the program can use it in awareness program on the dangers of tobacco.
Hassan said that the tobacco a company provides big high revenues for the state treasury, saying that the companies represent a big problem, considering them as a united lobby that works secretly. He expressed concern over the amounts of the smuggled tobacco via the borders with Eritrea, Ethiopia, Egypt, central Africa Republic, Chad and South Sudan.
