Halawani, Sudanese ministers discuss closer economic ties

Amman, March 31 (Petra) - Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Hatem Halawani, on Monday, discussed with Sudan's Ministers of Trade and Industry, Othman al-Sharif and Al-Samih al-Siddiq, ways of cementing economic cooperation between Jordan and Sudan in all fields, especially in trade and investment spheres.
Halawni told the Sudanese ministers that Jordan is keen on further investments in Sudan since the Arab African nation is home to more than one-billion-dollar worth of Jordanian ventures in the sectors of industry, agriculture and finance.
He expressed his ministry's readiness and all government agencies to provide all possible forms of technical support for the Sudanese side, especially in areas of providing parallel consumer markets and establishing free industrial zones .
The Sudanese ministers stressed the need to double efforts to promote economic cooperation and remove all obstacles that hinder the flow of the two-way trade exchange.
