Addis Ababa, Jan. 31 (SUNA)-The Foreign Minister, Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour, said that the winning of Amira Al-Fadil to the position of the African Union's Commissioner for Social Affairs assured that the Sudanese diplomacy is well and present at the Arab and African levels, referring to the earlier winning of Sudan to the position of the Arab League's Assistant Secretary General. In a press statement, the Foreign Minister has congratulated the political leadership and the Sudanese people on this victory, indicating that it is for the first time that Sudan wins a senior position at the African Union since the year 1963, despite the fact that Sudan was a founder of the African Union. He affirmed keenness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to support Amira Al-Fadil in her African role. He expressed his thanks to the African states which have supported the nomination of Amira Al-Fadil to the position of the AU Commissioner for Social Affairs. MO
