Former foreign minister criticizes prosecution of Mariam and arrest of Al-Mahdi
|
khartoum-The former state minister for foreign affairs and member of the parliament has accused the government of providing the foes with pretexts, saying that the prosecution of the “apostate” female doctor would not have reached the media. He added that” I am sure the minister of foreign affairs has fed up hearing about this case.
Local and international media outlets have been reporting the capital punishment sentence against Mariam Yahia, the female doctor that accused of apostasy and adultery (married to a Christian). The sentence was denounced by the international community. In this regard, ambassadors such the Sudanese charge D’ affaires in London were summoned in connection with the case.
Al-Waseela said that the authorities “give the foes many weapons that they use in the fight against us”, criticizing the way the leader of the Umma Party Al-Sadeq Al-Mahdi was arrested.
