The family of Tajeldin Ahmed Arja, detained since December 2013, are concerned about his health. The young activist and blogger was arrested by Sudanese security guards after he publically put the blame on President Omar Al Bashir of Sudan and his counterpart from Chad, Idris Deby.
Arja’s brother told reporters that his health has “deteriorated dramatically”. He also said that on Friday, security agents refuse to allow the family to deliver food to him that he had requested earlier.
“We asked them why he has not yet been released in terms of the Presidential amnesty which promised the release of all detainees, but got no answer.”
He appealed to the political parties and human rights organisations to exert pressure on the government and the security apparatus for the release of his brother.
