Election Commission rejects postponement of elections
|
Khartoum-The head of the National Elections’ Commission, Mukhtar Al-Asm, has said that the commission will not allow happening of a constitutional gap that leads to a political turmoil in Sudan due to non-conduct of the Presidential and parliamentary elections as scheduled next April.
Speaking to Alshoroq, he affirmed respect to the results of the national dialogue, saying that the commission is a politically sensitive organ that does not favor the government or any other party.
He added that” we know there is a national dialogue, and we will consider. And we cannot ignore its results that will surely have impact on all of us, but the commission cannot leave a constitutional gap that could lead to political unrest die to non-conduct of the elections as planned.
