Egypt opens a number of development cooperation projects in South Sudan
|
December 27, 2014- Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-Egypt’s Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Hossam El-Moghazy, will open a number of development cooperation projects in South Sudan at end of January within the framework of aid and grants pledged by Egypt to support infrastructure and development of the natural resources management, particularly irrigation and drinking systems. In press statements on Friday, El-Moghazy said that these projects are directly in interest of improving of service and lives of people in disadvantaged areas, noting that among those projects is the opening of three electronic wells costs about 5 million pounds to provide drinking water to more than 6,000 people in disadvantaged areas The Egyptian official added that he is scheduled to open during the next visit the central laboratory for the analysis of water quality, the first laboratory for analysis of water quality in South Sudan provided by Egypt which costs 2 million pounds, pointing out that the central laboratory was provided with all the equipment and supplies for all kinds of analyses of water quality and identifying sources of pollution.
