The Darfur Regional Authority (DRA) announced on Saturday that the submission of weapons by the Justice and Equality Movement-Sudan (JEM-Sudan) has been completed. andnbsp;
Maj. Gen. Babakar Korina, DRA Security Arrangements Commissioner, announced that the 1,350 ex-combatants of have submitted all their light and heavy arms, and vehicles to the competent authorities.
“After completing medical screenings, the ex-rebels will be divided according to military ranks. The soldiers will then receive training at the Jadeed El Seil military camp in North Darfur, while the officers will be trained at the Ground Forces Institute, or the Military academy.”
andnbsp;JEM-Sudan signed the Doha document for Peace in Darfur, brokered by Qatar, in April 2013. Earlier this year, JEM-Sudan leaders repeatedly accused the Sudanese authorities of procrastinating the security arrangements’ process.
