Court indicts Al-Khojalab demonstrators as Ba’ath party cadres released

Khartoum-The public court in Adoroshab in Khartoum Bahri has indicted 4 of Al-Khojalab detainees for breaching public tranquility and illegal assembly under articles 69 and 77 of the criminal code. The same court indicted in Tuesday sessions 9 defendants under articles 22,25,69,77,174,175 and 182 of the criminal code, according to member of the defense committee Amal Al-Zain. The defendants were arrested during last demonstration in September. On the other hand, the Khartoum North court has stopped the trial session of two members of the Ba’ath Socialist Party due to the absence of the plaintiff for the second time. Member of the defense team Satei Al-haj told the citizen that the petitioner did not show up for the second time, saying that they put forward a request asking the arrest of the petitioner but the court considered the petitioner as not serious to go ahead with the petition and stopped the trial measures according to article 201 of the criminal court and released the detainees. Last month, the authorities arrested two members of the Ba’ath Party while they were raising banners in Khartoum calling for the collapse of the regime in Sudan.
