Audio tapes of Riek Machar’s coup plots would be released to the public
|
For Immediate Release 8/16/14 I want to inform the media and the people of South Sudan that I will release the audio tapes of Riek Machar’s plans to topple the government of South Sudan last year. The audio tapes are communications between Riek Machar and Nuer officers. The tapes are in Nuer language except the tape of his communication with Seleka rebels of Central Africa Republic urging them to support Joseph Kony of LRA. The communication of Riek Machar and the Seleka rebels on LRA support will not be released to the public and the media now because of security reasons. Since the LRA is still active, there are sensitive information that can harm the operation of US Special Forces in Central Africa. All the tapes of Riek Machar’s communication with Nuer officers shall be released on Friday, August, 22. A technician is working to put them together so that I shall post them on YouTube by next week. The release of the audio tapes will prove to everyone that the attempted coup of December, 15, 2013 was planned by Riek Machar for four months. The release of the tapes will end the debate and silence those have been questioning whether what happened last year was a coup or a mutiny. I would advise the Western media outlets to contact me so that I give them the copies of the tapes in person in order to maintain the quality. The media will have to hire Nuer interpreters in order to understand the communication. If it is not possible to meet any media agent, then, they would access the audio tapes via the YouTube next week. For Contact: Gen.
