Jan 26, 2015-Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-South Sudan’s army disclosed that ambush on a convoy in the remote Northwest of South Sudan left at least 13 people dead, including three local journalists Vehicles carrying the commissioner, reporters and other civilians came under attack in Raga county in Western Bahr el Ghazal state on Sunday, Army Spokesman Philip Aguer said by phone from the national capital, Juba. Staff from South Sudan’s government-owned broadcasting service were among those killed, Aguer said on Monday, Bloomberg reported. Aguer blamed the assault on the Lord’s Resistance Army, a rebel group led by Joseph Kony that emerged in Uganda about 25 years ago. Western Bahr el Ghazal’s Governor, Rizik Zachariah Hassan, said soldiers who’d defected from the army were responsible. The county commissioner is wounded and receiving hospital treatment, Hassan said in an e-mailed statement.
