Al-doroshab North Court to listen to defendant witnesses in connection with case of killing of Sara
|
Khartoum-Al-doroshab North Court will hear Wednesday to defendant witnesses in connection with the case of Sarah Abdel-baqi who was shot dead during events of last September. Attorney Mutassim Al-Haj, the head of the accusation commission, said in his interview with The Citizen on Sunday that the court will listen to the evidence presented against the defendant.
Al-Haj pointed out that their request to add the arms department storekeeper at Al-doroshab North police station, as a second defendant in the report has been “locked in drawers” of the Ministry of Justice since last January.
“We will wait for the response of Justice Ministry, either by returning the report to the attorney or the rejection which means continuity of the court proceedings.
Al-Haj also stressed that the non-inclusion of the arms department storekeeper is contrary to the law and the legitimate and international regulations.
In the meantime, Khartoum North Criminal Court will listen, on Thursday, to the defendant witnesses in the case of the Khojalab detainees, (33) defendants. The judge has postponed the hearing of witnesses because of the prosecutor’s sickness as the judge said that hearing to the witnesses cannot be made in the absence of the prosecutor.
On the other hand, the authorities still refuses to release or prosecute activist and blogger, Taj Eldin Arja Ali, 26 years old who has been in detention since his arrest last December when he said chanted against Sudanese President Al-bashir and Chadian counterpart Idris Deby during a joint press conference at the Friendship Hall in Khartoum.
