African Union’s team ends its mission in Khartoum and leaves to Addis Ababa Khartoum-The African Union High Level Implementation panel team tasked to verify the mutual accusations between Sudan and South Sudan, has ended its Mission in Khartoum and Juba and left the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa to draft its final report and submit it to the African peace and Security Council. Rapporteur of Joint Security Political Committee, Dr. Moaz Farouk, said on Monday that African Union Team will draft its final report on its mission in Khartoum and Juba, and then it would submit it to the African peace and Security Council, pointing out that the team appreciated the assistance provided by the Sudanese side to facilitate its mission based on support the relationship between Sudan and South Sudan through removing all obstacles that hinder the implementation of the cooperation agreement, in particular the security arrangements. He said that the recommendations of African Union Mechanism will activate the mechanisms of the security arrangements, particularly the Joint Security Committee and fact-finding on the issue of support and harboring Taha and Machar after a series of joint meetings in Khartoum on 30 and 1 July issued a joint statement reiterating the two parties’ commitment to the security arrangements agreement and to not support rebel groups from both sides. Juba has been rejecting the allegations of supporting SPLM-N and SRF rebel’s generals, and instead counter-accused Khartoum of supporting its rebels including David Yau Yau in the troubled Pibor county of Jonglei state.
