Khartoum, 3 Aug (SUNA)- The Nilien University Optic Sciences college, has announced that a team of Chinese eye surgeons is current on visit to the Sudan within the context of the health protocols between the Sudan and china and is planning over a thousand eye surgeries.
Professor Tariq Abass, Deputy Vice chancellor of the University has pointed out in a press briefing at the university's headquarters in Khartoum that the Chinese teams has already started conducting the operations , and that it would be providing both medication and providing equipment to the tune of over 1,6 million dollars.
He said the operations started on August the first and would continue for three months during which it would conduct an average of 30 operations a day, covering patients hailing from all corners of the country.
He said the 15-man Chinese delegation include specialists, surgeons and other technicians and nurses. He said the Chinese team will see a minimum of 120 patients a day and decide who would be operated and who doesn't need such an operation. MA/MA
