80% of Sudan’s MPs ruling party excluded from the upcoming elections

Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-The MPs belongs to the ruling National Congress Party (NCP) will meet the deputy chairman of NCP organizational affairs, Professor Ibrahim Ghandour today, Wednesday to deliberate on not nominate more than 80% NCP MPs in the next elections
informed sources told Khartoum-based Al-Rai Al-A’am newspaper on Tuesday that a number of NCP MPs have accused some the states’ Governors of being behind the decision from the run in the next polls, revealing that about (80)% of the current MPs have been expelled from running in upcoming elections and will not be selected in the list for the next Parliament
The source confirmed that the decision sparked controversy questions among members of the ruling party, expecting that the today’s meeting with Ghandour will witness broad controversy.
Sudan’s general elections are set to be held in April 2015, but opposition parties are refusing to participate saying the environment is not conducive for fair and free polls.
However, the National Elections Commission (NEC) and the NCP reject any postponement to the electoral process, saying it would create a constitutional vacuum and cause chaos in the country.
