Khartoum, July 22 (SUNA) - Vice- President of the Republic and chairman of the higher committee for collection of illegal weapons and vehicles, Hassabo Mohamed Abdul-Rahman, has given a directive for formation of a committee to follow up the seizing of illegal weapons and urging the regional and international partners to contribute to funding the execution of programs and plans for success of the campaign.
This came when he received Sunday at the Republican Palace the Commissioner General for Disarmament, Demobilization and Re-Integration, Gen. Salah Al-Tayeb.
The Commissioner General has informed the Vice – President on the collection of weapons’ process, adding that the Vice – President has given a directive on formation of a committee to follow up the amendments in some items of the plan and to assume the contacts with the international partners, besides carrying out studies in different relevant fields.
Gen. Al-Tayeb pointed out that the meeting also discussed the plans and programs that were implemented by the Commission in the past period and the obstacles facing the performance.
