Khartoum, July 19 (SUNA) - The 20th Summit of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Wednesday concluded its sittings in Lusaka, Zambia, with participation of the Vice – President of the Republic, Hassabo Mohamed Abdul-Rahman.
The summit was attended by a high level of participation from the member states and witnessed the joining of Tunisia and Somalia to the COMESA.
The final communique has included appreciation of the positive developments that occurred at the peace and security field in the COMESA space.
The COMESA summit has praised the efforts exerted by Sudan as part of the IGAD initiative for realizing peace and reconciliation in the Republic of South Sudan.
The summit also appreciated the efforts of Sudan in boosting peace and stability world-wide and called on the United States to lift the name of Sudan from its list of countries sponsoring terrorism.
The Vice – President of the Republic, Hassabo Mohamed Abdul-Rahman, has addressed the COMESA summit pointing to the positive developments in Sudan and its efforts for realizing peace and reconciliation in South Sudan.
Hassabo has met during his visit to Lusaka with the President of Zambia and discussed means of strengthening further the bilateral relations in all fields.
