Bakery owners in districts in the Sudanese capital have complained about the reducted rations of flour. The lower bread production caused queues of people in front of bakeries.
Owners in Azhari, Gabra, El Sahafat and Obu Sid districts reported that the rations of flour now range between two to three sacks every other day, instead of ten.
Residents informed Radio Dabanga about the lack of bread in bakeries during the nighttime, and the emergence of queues of people trying to obtain bread. Others said that pieces of bread have become smaller.
The Sudanese Government has anticipated that there will be a 15 per cent deficit in flour production in the country over the next year.
Early in 2016 a flour shortageandnbsp;caused similar problemsandnbsp;in the capital and Sudanese states, after the government announced a rise of fuel prices, including a threefold increase in the price of cooking gas.
