Medani, August 25 (SUNA) - The Director General of the Agricultural Research Corporation Prof. Al-Sadiq Suleiman has announced that Sudan is competent to secure the needs of the world from cotton. He revealed, in a statement to SUNA, the completion of treatment to all long staple cotton's problems. Prof. Suleiman stressed that the cumulative producers' experiences made the cotton representing the first crop of Sudan in terms of productivity, which amounted to 12 quintals per acre at Gezira Scheme, which assures achievement of the government objectives on cultivation of one million acres with cotton in the country including 450,000 acres at Gezira Scheme, declaring production of a set of samples of super length and softness cotton to meet the needs of the global market.
