Egypt’s Water Resources and Irrigation Minister, Hossam El-Moghazy, will pay visit to South Sudan on 23-27 February, for opening a number of development cooperation projects in South Sudan under Egyptian grant to support infrastructure and exploiting of the natural resources management, particularly irrigation and drinking systems. Egypt Minister will opens 3 electronics wells which cost about 5 million Egyptian pounds to provide drinking water to more than 6,000 people in disadvantaged areas as part of the 30 wells pledged by Egyptian Ministry to provide clean drinking water to about half a million people in various states of South Sudan. The Minister said that he will open the central laboratory for analysis of water quality, the first laboratory for analysis of water quality in South Sudan with cost of two million pounds and is equipped with all the equipment and supplies for all kinds of analyses of water quality and identifying sources of pollution, and therefore reduce water-borne diseases Hossam El-Moghazy confirmed that he would complete talks South Sudan’s Minister of Water, Electricity and Dams, concerning the forming of South Sudanese- Egyptian Technical Committee to provide and monitor the technical advice on issues relating to the projects and cooperation activities in the field of irrigation and water resources
