UN condemns the bombing of a MSF hospital by Sudanese Air Force
|
Jan 24, 2015-Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-United Nations condemned on Friday shelling of a hospital in Sudan's South Kordofan state by Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), describing it as a "serious violation of humanitarian law". Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) revealed that one of its was directly targeted in an aerial bombing in Sudan on 20 January forcing the suspension of medical activities MSF head, Marc Van der Mullen, condemned in the strongest terms the bombing of the Frandala hospital which located in the Nuba Mountains village of Frandala in the South Kordofan region which bombed by the Sudanese Air Force (SAF). UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric told reporters that targeting of medical facilities is a serious violation of humanitarian law. "UN will continue to demand the warring parties in Sudan to respect humanitarian duties and in particular the protection of civilians and the safe passage of humanitarian organizations."
