Sudan’s detained opposition figure stresses that he will strengthen relationship with the rebel

Jan 10, 2015-Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-The head of the opposition National Consensus Forces (NCF), Farouk Abu Issa, stressed that his group is eager to strengthen its relationship the rebel Sudan’s Revolutionary Front (SRF) to overthrow the regime of the National Congress Party (NCP). Issa told the defence team which visited him at Kober Prison on Friday that he is stick to his stance regarding “Sudan Call” document and he will not retreat action whatsoever. Sati' al Haj, a member of Issa’s defence team, told Khartoum-based Al-Rai Al-A’am newspaper on Friday that that his team requested the National Intelligence and Security Service (NIS) to cancel the case against the two detained or to trial them Last December, Sudan's National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS) arrested Abu Issa, and head of the Alliance of the Sudanese Civil Society Organisations, Amin Maki Madani, besides former ruling National Congress Party (NCP) member, Farah Agar, and his office manager, Mohamed Eldoud after their return from Addis Ababa where they signed the "Sudan Call" accord with rebel groups. On 3 December, Sudanese political and armed opposition forces and civil society organizations signed in Addis Ababa the "Sudan Call" for the end of war, dismantlement of the one-party state, achievement of a comprehensive peace and democratic transition in the country.
