Sudan’s Minister of Defense confirms that situations under control

Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-Sudan’s Minister of Defense, Abdul Rahim Mohamed Hussein, stressed that Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) take the lead in all theaters of military operations, stressing the defeat of the rebels of Sudan People Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) who had infiltrated into outskirts of Kadugli, capital of South Kordofan on Monday, revealing his ministry’s plan to carry out some (55) project for development of the armed forces. “I want to reassure the citizens that number of our troops in the Blue Nile and South Kordofan states is too huge and the situations there are under control. And we are continuing the summer operations as planned), Hussein said in a speech before the country’s Parliament Defense Minister pointed out that his Ministry’s plans and programmes for the coming year include the strengthening of the defense mechanisms, the extension of State authority and promotion of shared resources with neighboring countries, as well as to put an end to the rebellion in Darfur, Kordofan, Blue Nile, revealing continued his Ministry in developing the military aircrafts to securing the long coast of Sudan. Southern Kordofan was a key battleground during Sudan’s 1983-2005 civil wars. Many in the Nuba Mountains sided with the then rebel SPLA, which has now become the official army of South Sudan. Now they find themselves on the wrong side of the border from former comrades as the South Sudan separated from the north.
