Sudanese authorities arrest two human rights activists
|
Khartoum-The Sudanese authorities have arrested two prominent human rights advocacy figures and other political activities, according to the Sudanese Monitor for Human Rights.
The Sudanese Human Rights Monitor known as Al-Marsad Al-Sudani has denounced in strongest terms what it described as the unjustifiable arrest of its former chief DR. Amin Mekki Medani and ex member of the board of trustees Farouq Abu-Issa.
Abu-Issa is chairing the opposition political alliance command authority while Dr. Medani heads the confederacy of the Sudanese Civil Society Organizations.
The two lawyers were arrested last night in connection with their signing of the “Sudan Call Document”, which was adopted by the National Consensus Forces, the Sudanese Revolutionary Front, the Umma Party and the Civil Society Initiative.
The Sudanese Monitor for Human Right called for releasing of the whole detainees immediately or bringing them to the justice as soon as possible.
