U.S .Embassy in Sudan questions Parliament about the journalists’ situations

Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-The political official at the US Embassy in Khartoum, Rolf Alas, questioned the media subcommittee at the Parliament about how the legislative body deals with the journalists especially in judicial aspects and the press law. The U.S. diplomat is scheduled to meet the legislation subcommittee in the coming days to discuss the constitutional amendment. After her meeting with the American diplomatic, the head of the parliamentary sub-committee on information , Afaf Tawur, told reporters on Sunday that Alas has questioned about the constitutional amendments and how the Parliament continues with its supporters , noting that her sub-committee had informed the American official on aspects of the journalism and canceling of the Press Court in Wad Madani state, stressing that the press should not cross the red lines such as the national security, as in all countries including America. Tawur disclosed that they have gave agreed with the U.S Embassy to train journalists after the latter requested names of journalists for training, pointing out that the Embassy had asked for names of journalists to English language training For his part, U.S Embassy official said that he would pursue the question of internal and external training of Sudanese journalists.
