Sudan’s Al-Bashir to meet the Communal Dialogue Committee tomorrow

Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-The head of the national Coordinative Committee for the Communal Dialogue, Prof. Hussein Suleiman Abu-Salih, announced that the committee will convene its first meeting on Monday in the Friendship Hall, Khartoum, with participation of the six committees formed by Sudan’s president Omer Al-Bashir. Following his meeting with Al-Bashir on Saturday, Abu-Salih told the state-run Sudanese Media Center (SMC) that the meeting would discuss how to gather the views of civil society, including women's associations, voluntary organizations, youth, students, athletes and artists, as well as on issues raised by the President of the Republic in his speech last January He added that his committee seeks to gather various sectors and segments of the society about the pending issues which will be added to the political mechanism to address the country's problems and achieve security and stability, adding that the communal dialogue committees discussed three major issues related to social peace, identity and pension issues Sudanese president Omar Hassan al-Bashir launched the national dialogue initiative last January but the process suffered major setbacks after the withdrawal of the opposition National Umma Party (NUP) and the non-participation of the rebels as well as leftist forces.
