|
Khartoum-The Sudanese government has officially rejected the call by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to allow another investigation into allegations of rape in Thabit village in North Darfur state, and urged Ban Ki-moon not to follow false and fabricated information. The UN Secretary General has earlier called for sending a team from the UNAMID to Thabit village for the second time to conduct investigations into the allegations the first report of the UNMID has dismissed. In press statements, the undersecretary of the ministry of foreign affairs, Abdalla Al-Azrag, has urged Ban ki-moon to look for countries other than Sudan, saying that Sudan is not place for mass rape. He expressed his astonishment over the UNAMID request to conduct another investigation in the area after it was allowed in the village at earlier time.
