WHO checks procedures to fight Ebola at Khartoum Airport

Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-Officials at the Khartoum International Airport announced that a team from the World Health Organization (WHO) visited the airport on Friday to assess the preparations to curb in entry of Ebola virus to the country, confirming that all airport procedures conform to WTO rules. Since last month Khartoum Airport authorities subjected persons coming from Western Africa to medical tests fearing of the deadly virus to enter Sudan. The director of Halls at Khartoum International Airport, Salah Ibrahim, said in press statements that WHO delegation visited the airport and checked procedures established by the departments of the airport and health quarantine to prevent entry of Ebola for Sudan. Ibrahim added that the delegation checked activation of the emergency plan by applying the laws of quarantine and inspect the health screening to check on sanitary measures, and discussed with Khartoum airport some health issues presented by health authorities at the airport.
