Sudan’s Foreign Minster invites Libya’s neighboring countries to meet in Khartoum on December 5

Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-Sudan’s Foreign Minster, Ali Karti, has extended official invitations to Foreign Ministers of the Libya’s neighboring countries to participate in the fifth meeting to be held on December, 5 in Khartoum. In press statements he made on Thursday, Karti expressed his hope that the Khartoum’s meetings to be an important step in contributing to the achievement of security and stability in Libya. The invitations included Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Niger, and Chad, along with Arab League Secretary General Dr. Nabil Elaraby, Libya Envoy to Arab League Nasser Al-Kidwa. The meeting comes within the framework of the efforts made by Sudan with neighboring countries to find a peaceful settlement to achieve National Accord in Libya. Karti, conducted on Tuesday talks with the Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives Aqila Saleh in the city of Tobruk which focused on Sudan’s support for the dialogue and reconciliation among the warring factions. Sudanese top diplomat told Libyan media that his visit to Tobruk was in response to the direction of President Omar al-Bashir who hoped peace and brotherhood to the Libyan people. He added that the Speaker of the House of Representatives and Libran Foreign Minister in the interim Government are committed to dialogue and reconciliation and settlement of disputes by peaceful means.
