EU delegation and Norwegian mission in Sudan express concern over security situations in Darfur

Khartoum-The ######### of the EU mission and the ambassador of Norway in Khartoum expressed their apprehension over the instability and insecurity in Darfdur region in western Sudan. In a statement, the ######### of the EU mission and the ambassador of Norway have expressed their particular concern over the reported allegations of sexual violence in village of Tibit in North Darfur. " The EU ######### of Mission and the Ambassador of Norway take careful note of the announcement of the Minister of Justice of Sudan to investigate the reports and expect the publication of a full inquiry by Yasir Ahmed Mohamed, the Special Prosecutor for Crimes in Darfur”. The statement said. “However, we are disturbed by the lack of swift and free access given to the United Nations-African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID)” the statement added. The statement urged the Government of Sudan to grant unrestricted and continued access to UNAMID personnel to conduct a thorough investigation in Tabit, in line with their mandate, and to guarantee access of humanitarian actors.
