Sudan’s Foreign Minster holds talks in Tobruk and Cairo on Libyan reconciliation

Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-Sudan’s Foreign Minster, Ali Karti, conducted on Tuesday talks with the Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives Aqila Saleh in the city of Tobruk which focused on Sudan’s support for the dialogue and reconciliation among the warring factions. Sudanese top diplomat told Libyan media that his visit to Tobruk was in response to the direction of President Omar al-Bashir who hoped peace and brotherhood to the Libyan people. He added that the Speaker of the House of Representatives and Libran Foreign Minister in the interim Government are committed to dialogue and reconciliation and settlement of disputes by peaceful means. For his part, the Libyan official stressed that his House of Representatives and the government of Abdullah Al-Thani support dialogue and reconciliation "in order to rescue Libya". Karti said the Libyan media said his visit to Tobruk was commissioned by President Omar al-Bashir's campaign message of peace and brotherhood to the Libyan people of the brothers in Sudan, "said that during his meeting with the speaker of the House of representatives and Foreign Minister in the interim Government is a real trend towards dialogue and reconciliation and settlement of disputes by peaceful means. It should be noted that Karti had met in Cairo prior to his departure to Libya a number of Egyptian officials and discussed ways of cooperation between the two countries.
