|
Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-Sudan National Assembly’ head of media and culture committee, Afaf Tawur, called to engage Nuba Mountains citizens affectively in the Government's negotiations with the Sudan People Liberation Movement-North (SPLA-N) as they represent the real stakeholders, criticizing that Khartoum’s Government negotiating delegation for not including women while the SPLM-N delegation is full of women. She blamed lack of involvement of sons of the Two Areas in the negotiation delegation for the head of Government delegation, Ibrahim Ghandour, explaining that the Government delegation composed of experts only and neglects the role of the citizen who is negotiating on his behalf and avoids any woman, while SPLM-N women participate to achieve their demands Afaf Tawur told journalist on Sunday that involving of the civil departments of Blue Nile and the Nuba Mountains remain a milestone in the dialogue. The border states of South Kordofan and Blue Nile state have been the scene of violent conflict since June 2011 when the SPLM-N launched an insurgency against the Khartoum regime. Peace talks between the two parties remain deadlocked after they failed to reach a common ground for negotiations. While the government says it is only willing to discuss the conflict in the Two Areas, the SPLM-N is demanding a comprehensive peace process.
