The leader of the eastern Sudanese National Movement for Change has warned for the development of a civil war in the region, similar to the one in Darfur.
El Amin Daoud accused the Sudanese authorities of repeating the Darfur crisis in the marginalised region of eastern Sudan, by fomenting civil strife, and being extremely slack on human trafficking and arms trade.
Daoud said in an interview with the independentandnbsp;El Tarigandnbsp;newspaper on Monday that the eastern Sudanese should take a lesson from the continuing crisis in Darfur, “where the Khartoum regime has set up communities against each other, by arming groups of them, and declaring the others insurgents”.
