Sudanese government accepts support to Addis Ababa agreement
|
Khartoum-The Assistant to the Sudanese President Ibrahim Ghandour announced on Wednesday the government support to the agreement that was recently signed in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa by the representatives of the known dialogue mechanism known as (7+7), the opposition and the arms holders in Darfur, Blue Nile and South Kordofan.
Gandour has notified the European Union ambassador in Khartoum that the 8 items mentioned in the Addis Ababa agreement are identical to the articles mentioned in the roadmap plan of the dialogue mechanism. He lauded the efforts exerted by the African Union high-level mechanism chaired by Thabo Mbeki in this regard. The EU ambassador has meanwhile affirmed support to the results of the dialogue so far, hoping that the people of Sudan in the government and the opposition would come out with an agreement satisfying all parties and handling the issues of their countries in the coming stage.
