Organizations seek application of international monitoring for human rights in Sudan
|
Khartoum-Well-informed sources have said that representatives of western countries and international organizations at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva are endeavoring to impose international monitoring on Sudan and to appoint special rapportuer for human rights violations under article instead of the independent expert. These bodies are expected to put forward these request in the 27th session of the human rights council, to be started in Geneva next week. These bodies have attributed their trend of calling for sanctions on Sudan to the continuity of violations, violence, killing, confiscation of freedoms and arrests against civilians.
Speaking to Al-Ray Al-am newspaper, the representative of the Sudan in Geneva ambassador Rahmtalla Saleh underestimated the importance of the movements within the human rights council in this regard, accusing these international organizations of conspiring
