Umma Party threatens ruling party of uprising
|
Khartoum-The National Umma Party has threatened to trigger off a popular uprising if the government adhered to reject Paris Declaration.
The deputy chairman of the Umma Party Fadul Burma Nasir has accused the National Congress Party and the Popular Party led by Dr. Al-Turabi of rejecting Paris declaration for personal interests and to remain in power.
Speaking to a press conference at the premises of the party on Tuesday, Burma denounced the critics made by the chairman of the national consensus forces, Farouq Abu-Issa, to the agreement between the Umma Party and the Revolutionary Front. He said “we will not pay attention to statements by individuals. Abu Isa has no any party, and we are bigger than that”.
He said that the chairman of the Umma Party Al-SAdeq Al-Mahdi does not fear detention if he returned to the country, adding that after the completion of his mission briefing the regional and international bodies on Paris declaration, we will discuss the possibility of his return home or staying abroad. The Popular Congress has called for paving the political atmosphere to block the way before the bodies that target the country and seek undermining the national dialogue.
The Popular Congress has stressed the necessity of involving the parties, which did not join the dialogue such as the revolutionary front, in the dialogue, and agreeing on common issues to be agreed upon by all.
