Army spokesperson denies smuggling attempt by military attache employee in Egypt
|
Khartoum-The spokesperson of the armed forces Colonel Al-Sawarmi Khalid Sa’ad has issued statement on what has been circulated by some media outlets that the authorities in Cairo International Airport have arrested an administrative attache at the office of the military attache at the embassy of Sudan in Cairo.
The statement has denied any money smuggling attempt by the employee.
.The statement said that the employee was officially assigned to convey a sum of 175 thousand dollars to the Sudanese military attaches in Cairo.
The statement stated that the employee of the military attaches handed over the hostess the sum and received it back when left the plane, adding that after his arrival in Cairo Airport, the employee was intercepted by airport security personnel who escorted him to the police office at the airport.
The airport authorities contacted the foreign ministry in Egypt which denied knowledge about this sum, the statement said.
The Sudanese military attaché in Egypt interfered with the help of brothers in the Egyptian military intelligence who assisted in returning the money to Sudan, according to the statement.
