Ghandour: Al-Mahdi did not wash his hands off dialogue
|
Khartoum-The Assistant to the President Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour has denied any intention by the Chairman of the opposition Umma Party Al-Sadeq Al-Mahdi to wash his hands off the national dialogue being led by the National Congress, saying that Al-Mahdi affirmed participation in the dialogue.
In press statements upon a meeting with the National Congress Youth Secretariat on Tuesday, Ghandour said Al-Mahdi told them” the matter needs further communication with the parties to the dialogue”, saying that the leader of the Umma Party has never mentioned that he washed his hands off the national dialogue.
In the meantime, Ghandour has ridiculed the accusation by some political parties that his party is evading the dialogue, saying that those who are accusing us of evading dialogue are the same powers which publicly announced their rejection to the dialogue.
He further affirmed readiness for talks on the two areas with the SPLM-North, saying” we are waiting for the invitation and we are ready at any time for talks”.
He shed doubts over the SPLM-North intention to attend the talks, saying” it seems the other party is still hesitated”.
