Army denies providing Libyan rebels with arms
|
Khartoum-The spokesman of the Armed Forces Colonel Al-Sawarmi Khalid Sa’ad has denied reports that the Sudan has provided Libyan terrorists elements with arms shipments, saying that there are joint forces on the border monitoring borders and combating terrorists and outlaws if any.
In a statement on Sunday, Al-Sawarmi said that the Sudanese-Libyan relations especially the military ones are in its best, referring to the wide military cooperation in field of training. He said also pointed to the presence of tens of Libyan students in the military Karari University in Sudan.
The spokesperson of Operation Al-Karama, which is being made by the Libyan army under the command of the retired Major-General Khalifa Khaftar, Colonel Mohamed Hijazi said that the plane carrying weapons landed last Friday in Mitiga airport from Sudan.
He said that the weapons have already delivered to the elements of the radical leader Abdel-Hakeem Belhaj
