guarantee for political stability Experts describe election as sole
Khartoum-A number of experts and academicians have described the elections as a constitutional right that should not be delayed beyond 2015.
Professor of Political Science in Al-Nelain University Mohamed Ali Al-saouri has said that the current government and the national assembly will not remain legitimate after 2015 a matter that necessitates the conduct of the elections as scheduled.
Speaking to the Sudanese Media Center, he said that it will be difficult for the government to postpone the elections without reaching consensus with the opposition parties. He described the conduct of elections is the sole guarantee for political stability.
The Professor of Political Science in Khartoum University Dr. Safwat Fanous said that the political arena is not favorable for the conduct of elections that will produce a balanced national assembly that represents all political powers.
He said that the conduct of elections in 2015 will make it repeated copy of 2010 elections a matter that will deepen the political crisis.
In the same context, professor of political science in Al-Zaem Al-Azhari University Dr. Mohamed Al-Amin said that the elections should be conducted as scheduled due to positive impact on the democratic process and the peaceful transfer of power.
