Arab Human Rights Network denounces security moves against press
|
Khartoum-The Arab network for Human rights Information denounced yesterday what it described as the serious security escalation by the Sudanese authorities against the opposition and the press freedoms as the Sudanese authorities officially announced formulation of a committee to monitor newspapers and mass media as stated by the minister of information last Wednesday. The Arab network for Human Rights Information has said considered the Sudanese authorities decision as official legalization of monitoring newspaper and mass media a matter it considered as a threat to a violent stage that exceeds thoughtful suppression and silencing of voices. The regime has earlier adopted” secret or non-official censorship”, but this time, the censorship will be legalized. The Arab network has asked the Sudanese authorities to immediately release Al-Sadeq Al-Mahdi and drop all charges against him and stop all attempts to impose control on newspapers and mass media in Sudan. The network has called on the international community and concerned organizations to interfere to stop the unprecedented violations in the Sudanese scene.
